Hi and welcome to my first blog post. I am new at this so I hope you’ll bear with me.
If we haven’t met, and you’ve only read my bio, then by now you know that I really love the hotel industry. It is in my soul and I lovingly blame my father. He and my mom traveled a lot when I was very young and as the youngest of nine siblings, they thought it might be easier on everyone just to have me tag along and leave all the teenagers with my grandparents. By the time I was 12, my father, an industrial entrepreneur in the rubber and steel industry, was the head of an international association so when we went to conventions, I got a taste of that suite life. Let’s just say it made an impact on me. Today, my husband and kids travel with me frequently and I daresay that our industry is infectious.
I’ll be using this blog to share what and who inspires me, who I’m talking to, and how folks are feeling about the state of the industry. I’ll use it to talk about standards because, well, I’m a rule follower born and raised, and I get as excited about standards as I do a Springsteen show. I hope you’ll check back frequently.
